The UNESCO-UCLA Chair in Global Learning and Global Citizenship Education and the Boston Global Forum (BGF) are happy to announce the collaboration and creation of the Global Citizenship Education Network (GCEN) , website : GCE.GSEIS.UCLA.EDU, or GCEN.World .
The mission of the GCEN is to promote world peace and a sustainable planet for all citizens by developing knowledge of and solutions to global issues. During its first phase, the GCEN will focus on four areas: educational programs, global citizen scorecard, global citizenship educators and initiatives, publications.
The idea for a Global Citizenship Education Network was first discussed in April 2016, and officially presented on September 23, 2016 at a conference organized by the Boston Global Forum and the UNESCO-UCLA Chair in Global Learning and Global Citizenship Education at Harvard University. Today, November 21, 2016, on the campus of the University of California-Los Angeles (UCLA) we reaffirm the mission of the GCEN.
